A railroad switch is a small mechanism with an outsized consequence: it redirects an entire train onto a new track. That is exactly what SouthSide Switch intends to do for Southwest Atlanta.Inspired by New York City's High Line and Atlanta's own BeltLine, two of the most celebrated urban transformations in modern history, SouthSide Switch brings that same spirit of resurrection to the corridors that have waited longest for it.We represent the collective interests of the residents, artists, and legacy businesses of Southwest Atlanta. Our mission is simple: flip the switch on the Southside.

SouthSide Switch is a community-led placemaking and advocacy organization dedicated to the restorative development of Southwest Atlanta. Like the railroad switch that redirects a train onto a new track, we want to redirect city investment, narrative pride, and infrastructure quality toward the residents and legacy communities of the Southwest corridor, ensuring they shape and share in every benefit of what comes next.

Vacant storefronts and neglected lots are not problems to be hidden, they are Transformation Zones. Through tactical urbanism, art, pop-up activations, and our signature event The Switch Art Walk, we reclaim these spaces for the community and attract the kind of development that serves it.

SouthSide Switch prioritizes their visibility, viability, and economic protection at every stage of development. Revitalization that displaces the people who built it is not revitalization at all. What if art could transform a neglected corridor into a destination?#TheSwitch is SouthSide Switch's signature event pairing local artists with local businesses along Southwest Atlanta's corridors to create an experience that draws foot traffic, builds community, and tells the truth about the neighborhood it celebrates.Each participating business becomes a gallery. Each artist gains a platform. And every visitor who walks the route leaves with a deeper understanding of the issues facing Southwest Atlanta and what we can do together to address them.This is not just an art walk. It is an activation. A statement. A preview of what these corridors can and will become.Our very first Switch is coming to Southwest Atlanta soon. Stay tuned!
